Jim Roberts, assistant managing editor for digital content at The New York Times and a 1977 graduate of the UNC J-school, visited classes and met with students at the school in January 2012. He spoke with Dean Susan King about his work at The Times and the organization's role in leading the digital aspects of the news and information industry. Roberts also discussed presidential elections as a means for innovation in news.
