Before we arrived in Basa we were met on the trail about a mile out by a band. They played and guided us in. When we got there there was a procession of women and children that adorned us with necklaces of flowers. Pretty soon our shoulders were stacked so high we could barely turn our heads. We were placed at a long table of honor and speeches were made. Over the next 24 hours we were honored with dances, tours and welcomed into many homes.
