Video by Jon Finch. We have split from UVA to now be called CUPRA (Central Utah Pylon Racers Association)Here is what our newly created E-200 electric class looks like. Here is my newest design, the Lancer. It a standard 200 square inch 1/2A glow pylon racer, but with a brushless electric motor. Limited to 1300 mA Li-Po battery and choice of three different inexpensive motors ranging from $6-$16 with 25-35 Amp controllers. Here was the last heat of the day slated for three racers, but one crashed-out, leaving just the two of us. These are cracking the radar at 102-106 MPH using theTower Pro 2409-12T motor and APC 7X10 glow prop. This one tips the scales at 15.8 oz ready-to-fly with the 1000 mA battery, and quick-release wing hold down. Battery swaps take just seconds. The Lancer fuselage kit is now available from JTechLaser for about $13, which includes the wing latch plywood parts. Modified MH-43 wing cores are available from Jon Finch. You would also add wing sheeting, hardware, and some triangle balsa stock.
