Mail Man gives chase to unattended USPS vehicle which rolls in reverse circles before nearly running him over and finally hitting a parked vehicle.

I have a theory: Maybe the shifter linkage on that old LLV was out of wack and when he threw it in park it was really right at the middle point between park and reverse and the vibration from him getting out made it fall into gear right after he got out. Note that he never set the parking brake or shut the engine down when he got out.

And the crimson van saves the day by blocking the USPS vehicle and preventing it from doing any further damage.  That driver is lucky he was not run over...

He probably lost his job. We actually have safety talks on rollaway, runaway trucks. That looks like a runaway. Left an unattended vehicle running.

He forgot one simple thing which is to turn the vehicle OFF I am a postal worker myself from the Baltimore Washington area (where this incident occurred I can tell by the Anne Arundel county police car) and endlessly they remind us to turn the vehicle off and put the parking break on
