Tom Adams banjo lesson July 2012 tab available at
http://www.adamscountybanjo.com/2012-...

There are 4 parts to this lesson:

1 - 0:00 High G backup lick - can be used to fill 2 measures at the end of a vocal line.
2 - 1:00 High C backup lick - can be used to fill 2 measures at the end of a vocal line.

Both of the above licks contain no open strings so they can be played at any fret. Try moving the High C lick two frets higher and you'll be playing the same lick with a D chord.

3 - 1:39 Descending lick from the tune "Earl's Breakdown". The first example puts the lick in context with the tune by playing an extra measure before and after the main lick (which is 6 measures long).

View the source for this descending lick at the YouTube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drHCos...

4 - 2:40 Foggy Mountain Special - this break is based on Earl Scruggs' playing on the Flatt & Scruggs TV Show at the YouTube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCYCCu...
