When I heard there was another Bing Crosby radio anthology, I was skeptical. I LOVE Bing Crosby, but there have been so many re-issues of the same old material that I did not have high expectations. Instead, I found nearly 200 previously unreleased masterpieces. On that same line of reasoning, when I saw that he did "Unchained Melody" back in the 50s....I didn't even know the song was that old....I thought it would be totally incongruous to his voice. Happily, I was surprised. His performance is AMAZING!! The simplicity of emotion is incredible, and there are moments where he comes as close to belting that I've ever heard....which is a big contrast in itself.

Anyway, here is a mix with the voice brought forward and some echo added so that is it not exactly the same as the original recording.....but really the original is better than this. I have no connection with the recording other than as a fan, but you should try "Bing Crosby CBS Radio Recordings (1954-56)" before it is out of print. It is truly a masterpiece.
