Before Tommy Gumina became the founder and president of the Polytone Amplifier Company, he was one of the world's greatest Jazz Accordionists, following in the wake of Art Van Damme (who is today one of Tommy's great friends). Tommy made albums with Harry James, Willie Smith, Art Pepper, Joe Pass, and Ron Eschete, but his most sought after recordings are the 5 LPs he made with the legendary Buddy DeFranco. It was these LPs that brought Tommy much acclaim and respect from the Jazz world.

Tommy founded Polytone in 1968. Two of Tommy's earliest supporters in this endeavor was the late Joe Pass and the late Ray Brown; and today Polytone's customer list reads like a "Who's Who" in the music world. Tommy has been developing his own sound as a musician and a technician since the 1950s and is the inventor of the "Polytone Sound". Please be sure to visit Polytone at www.polytoneamps.com to see Tommy's complete line of equipment. Please also visit www.tommygumina.com and check out the sound bytes, photo gallery and Tommy's discography. These sites are a Godsend for Tommy's fans.
