"Pain is temporary! It may last for a minute, or an hour, or a day, or even a year. But eventually it will subside and something else will take it's place. If I quit however, it will last forever." - Eric Thomas

On Dec. 24, 2011, Adrian Peterson was placed on injured reserve due to a torn ACL and MCL. Some athletes never return from such injuries. Peterson said his injury was "a blessing in disguise," as he was determined to "come back stronger and better than I was before." On Sept. 9, 2012, nine months following surgery and rehab, Peterson returned to rush for 84 yards and two touchdowns in his first game back, his first step towards winning the 2012 NFL Most Valuable Player award.
