Last year Fort Benning exchanged an Army Drill Sergeant for an Air Force Military Training Instructor to learn how each service trains their new recruits. Well, this year the Marines got in on the action and sent a couple Combat Instructors here in exchange for a couple Drill Sergeants in return. Ron Andruss went out to Sand Hill and brings us the story.

Respect, respect, respect. All branches have a healthy competitive nature, but this shows that they all respect one another.

most people don't know that a former Marine joining another Service isn't required to do boot camp this opposite isn't true

This is the type of cross-branch training I like seeing within the US Military. Very positive video between the cross training practices of the US Army and US Marine Corps. I was involved in similar training as a US Army soldier. We in fact had a US Marines instructor during our training when I was a soldier; very professional and to the point NCO.

I just want to inform yall. I combat instructor is NOT a drill instructor. Combat instructors are the guys that teach at the school of infantry. Theyre the nice guys compared to drill instructors. I just think its hilarious. The army kids cant handle our drill instructors.😂 They would cry.

As somebody who went through pre-OCS qualifications for both the marines and army (I was a little indecisive in college), I tell people all the time: the Marine drill instructors are more intense but once you adjust its pretty easy, army drill sergeants are much better teachers and overall you get a lot more out of the training. Maybe that was just my experience but I personally thought the army method was more effective. However I respect every single service member, regardless of branch!

As a Marine, I have every bit of respect for my Army brethren. We all serve together.
