Bill Hart discusses the Kongoli (or Gongoli) mask of the Mende of Sierra Leone. The Kongoli is a comic mask, which provides a counterpoint to the masquerade figures associated with the male and female initiation societies. The video was produced by the Reanimating Cultural Heritage project at University College London.
