Tammy Wilson, principal at Discovery Community School in St. Cloud, Minn., couldn’t find any books representing her Somali students. Believing that children should be able to see themselves in literature, she decided to write one herself. Days after the book was released, she met with the students whose stories influenced and inspired the book. Children can be tough critics, hear what they had to say! ____________________
