This is a reading from my novel Three Sisters, Three Queens, which is out tomorrow (21 Feb) in paperback. One of my favourite things about writing historical fiction is that you can use humour to bring a scene to life. This particular scene is drawn from the historical record...'Margaret, who must have heard stories of her husband’s 'past', was taken aback to find her dower castle was used as a nursery for the King’s illegitimate children.
