This is my remix of Zohar's piano solo arrangement with Mathew Valente's Chrono Resurrection remix of Mitsuda's original.

Zohar's arrangement is here:

Mathew Valente's remix is here:

I always thought that Zohar's arrangement added a whole new level of tragedy and spirituality to the original (his Shevat arrangement is similar, even more so, btw). It takes away most of the lightness that the original may have had and makes its contrast between bitterness and sweetness much more distinct and intensifies the melancholy of the piece.

Valente's remix on the other hand is dominated by guitars whose riffs have a special feel to them that gives the melancholy of the piece a different, perhaps more brighter, 'color', or even takes it away altogether. Also, he added the Chrono Trigger theme into his remix. I always thought it gained a lot by this, because he made the theme fit into the composition so well and seamlessly that you wouldn't notice it is from a second piece.

So, what I have basically done is that I have added a fourth 'clef' to Zohar's arrangement in which I try to imitate those guitars, and then I inserted the Chrono Trigger theme section at the corresponding passage as well. I had to make some changes to the riffs in order to make them playable (the "third hand faking" gets insane here), and also because I felt that some of them for some reason lost their desired effect or led to unpleasant sounds when played on the piano exactly as they were played on the guitars. ---
