Photos courtesy of http://www.hazecam.net and http://www.fsvisimages.com/. On your hike this past weekend did you notice the haze? Hard to miss if it is blocking your favorite mountaintop view! This clip shows the haze that moved in over the past week as documented by the Mount Washington Hazecam. Regional haze can be caused by smoke from forest fires and air pollution, as was the case this past week, combining to make for dismal visibility.

Ozone air pollution was also in the air this past week further south in New Hampshire and other parts of the Northeast and the Mid-Atlantic. Check the air quality forecast at http://www.epa.gov/airnow to learn what the ozone and fine particulate levels are before you hit the trail. You can also learn more about air pollution in your area using the app from our friends at American Lung Association at http://www.lung.org/healthy-air/outdo...
