A special Eurostat Seminar on the measurement of Global Value Chains and Economic Globalisation was jointly hosted by the Institute for International Integration Studies of Trinity College Dublin and the Central Statistics Office in Ireland, on the 18th of April, 2013 in the Long Room Hub in Trinity College Dublin. This seminar was a very important event as it marked the publication of the "Global Value Chains and Economic Globalisation -- Towards a New Measurement Framework" prepared by Timothy J. Sturgeon of the Industrial Performance Center or Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). This seminar also presented updates from the statistical offices of the European Commission (Eurostat), the United Nations (UN) and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
