The Spartans' best receiver, Courtney Hawkins, was hurt and didn't play in this game. Maybe if he'd played, MSU would have won by more than one point and avoided the controversial ending. It's also worth noting that a call went against MSU earlier in the game when an apparent Jon Vaughn fumble was taken back.

Was definitely the right no-call. To call that pass interference would be criminal. Howard has to hold on to that ball. Period. He didn't. You're the number 1 team and you shouldn't be in that position to begin with where you gotta go for 2 and the win against "no one". I love how a bunch of Michigan fans are running around by Howard celebrating as they don't realize that they called it incomplete. GO STATE.

Desmond Howard straight dropped it !
Hyland Hickson was punishing defenders out there ..

One of the worst calls, remember it well...
Pax Diorum
Cintara Sukapatna
Hence, why to THIS DAY; that whiney POS Howard, never, but never gives any Spartan team any credit or props. Always picks them to lose on Game Day. That was clean! he just tripped over his OWN clumsy feet!

That was a great game. I know that Michigan fans were pissed, but they had chances earlier in the game as well as State did. I am still ticked off, years later, that Perles kicked the damn ball to Howard that he returned for the touchdown. Anyway...
Hickson = beast mode
the #1 vs no one game...
