2 June 2012 was the first Worldwide Pachyonychia Congenita Awareness Day. There was 50 different events in 10 countries from Yard Garage Sales, Bake Sales, Fun Days, Bowling, Archery, balloon releases, chess tournament, Family & Friends dinners and BBQs and lots more. In Santa Cruz, California TransDerm Inc. organized a ThickSkin Duathlon to raise funds for Pachyonychia Congenita. This video shows one event and what an impact it had on PCers and the Santa Cruz Community. We want to thank TransDerm and all the sponsors and participants and especially all the PC Patients.

TransDerm, inc is dedicated to developing therapeutics for skin disorders. In partnership with the International Pachyonychia Congenita Consortium (IPCC) and Pachyonychia Congenita Project (PC Project) (www.pachyonychia.org). They are investigating different avenues for helping patients suffering from the pachyonychia congenita (PC). PC is an ultra rare genetic skin disorder that causes extremely painful blisters and calluses on the feet, cysts, thickened nails and other painful condtions. Research being done is making a difference for PC patients, as well as for those suffering from other rare disorders, and millions affected by a variety of common skin disorders — psoriasis, eczema, melanoma, alopecia, etc.
