Have you ever wondered what would happen if The Book of Mormon found its way to South Park? No? Well, I had. So I decided to animate it to see how it'd turn out!

The animation I've made is in absolutely no way affiliated with either South Park or The Book of Mormon. It was made out of a genuine love for both the TV show and the stage musical. All rights belong to the respective companies and I hope so much that they don't kill me for what I've made!

EDIT:
========================================

Firstly, thank you so much everyone for sharing this video about. It was such a fun little piece to make and I'm flattered at all the feedback I've had so far, good and bad. It's all experience at the end of the day and I'm more than happy to take on board

I thought I'd take a moment to answer a few questions a lot of people have been asking about the piece, just in case any of you are interested.

Backgrounds.
A lot of you with keen eyes have noticed that a majority of the backgrounds are from the recently released South Park: The Stick of Truth. Correct! They are! I figured they're already perfect, why not use them to my advantage? The close ups on doorbells and whenever someone opens a door, and also the steps the Mormons are on at the end are all mine though.

How it was made.
I'm aware that South Park Studios create their animation in Maya. I made this version in After Effects CC using Photoshop to set up all the scenes and draw up the Mormons. Assets for actual South Park Characters were found wherever I could find them on the web. It's all made at 15 frames a second to help recreate the juddery effect of South Park, but I'm aware that my character move a lot more theatrically than theirs. That was just for fun!

How Long it took to make.
The animation took me about a week to make (I started it last Saturday (8th June 2014) and finished it and uploaded it on Saturday 14th of June 2014). The hardest part was figuring out who said what line in the song. I found a script for the show online (http://www.spscriptorium.com/Treats/B...) which helped enormously.

And I think that covers it. Thank you again for the support and liking the video. The people who own the rights to the song got in touch and they're more than happy with the piece and have allowed me to use the song. So I guess I'm not going to be killed! Hurray! Though, Bobby Lopez has also seen the video and while he said it was awesome, he DID say he'll have to kill me. BRING IT, BOBBY! :D.

Finally, if you enjoyed the show and this song, then please do Buy The Book of Mormon soundtrack on iTunes, https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/boo... There are SO many more fantastic songs on there, some I'd love to animate in the same style, but we'll leave that for now.
