Here's the first retro commercial montage of a few looks at the classic Disney Channel in the late 80's and early 90's. This recorded montage installment takes us back to 1991... in particular, these are the promos that aired immediately before and after the Disney Channel's debut of Darkwing Duck. We see promos for, in order:

-The Disney Channel original movie Perfect Harmony.

-An exclusive look at the short lived show the 100 Lives of Black Jack Savage. It aired on Fridays, which in most cases is the kiss of death for a TV show... unless you're a USA show, X-Files, or Numb3rs, anyway.

-A promo for Darkwing Duck, featuring music and footage from the original theme song.

-The Disney Channel Mystery Night, featuring Sherlock Holmes

-A March-May preview of various movies and specials, including Monkeys Go Home!, The Barefoot Executive (Kurt Russell rules! Snack Plissken, Jack Burton, and Gabe Cash are the greatest! Also, RIP John Ritter), It All Started with a Mouse, Flight of the Navigator, Spaced Invaders, Alice in Wonderland, Disney's Salute to Mom, and the Little Mermaid.

The Disney Channel we know may be gone, but we still have our memories of it.
