We sent Tim Anderson - former Masterchef champion and professional beer lover - to a lunch organised by the Brewers Association in the plush surroundings of Michelin-starred restaurant Club Gascon. Chef Pascal Aussignac had created a bespoke five-course French tasting menu that paired perfectly with a range of fine, carefully crafted American beers. Tim will talk you through those pairings and give you some ideas around how to recreate the flavour combinations at home.
The beers featured are: Bells Brewery's Oarsman Ale, Stevens Point Brewery's Point Amber Ale, Deschutes Brewery's Mirror Pond Pale Ale, Founders Brewery's Centennial IPA and North Coast Brewery's Old Rasputin Imperial Stout.
