Jenn Got me a Valentine's Day sword! She got a Valentine's Day python. ^_^

This is a koto (*Spaz!*) wakizashi, signed tachi mei.

Nakago: Suriage
Mei: Katana omote - Shitoku (1385 to 1395), ni (2) or roku (6) nen. Katana ura - Bishu Osafune (Rest of mei lost due to shortening)
Hamon: Looks like gunome with some choji, and the boshi is jizo. In nie and ko-nie.
Hada: Mokume
Sugata: Shinogi-zukuri, ko-kissaki
Horimono: Bo-hi
Koshirae: Damaged shirasaya, long silver-foiled copper habaki of inome design.

This sword has been shortened (suriage) to have a nagasa of a hair over 21.5". Machi were moved up approximately 3.5 inches. There are three mekugi-ana. Nakago is well patinated and smooth. It is a tired blade with a few patches of shingane exposed and a very small hamachi. There are numerous scratches and small chips, and some light, stabilized rust.

All in all, I am VERY happy with this waki. ^_____^
