Student-Teacher Relationships: from students at Woodland Hills

This documentary will answer the question "What makes really good teachers at Woodland Hills?" To show our concerns about recent teacher cuts, voiced by students, the goal is to get people to realize that WH is losing good teachers and that the students and school need to: 1) appreciate the really good ones who are left and 2) encourage great teaching throughout the school by showcasing talented teachers in action. Our conclusion will be based on student testimonials about the types of teachers that make an impact.

The great qualities we have identified so far are: creating great energy, having a loud voice, interacting with students outside of the classroom, like at lunch or after-school tutoring.

Teacher interviews will show that it takes a lot of time to work with students and that clubs and after-school activities are important to building good learning relationships.

We will also talk to students about how they can make good relationships. It will end with one student in the hallway directly addressing the audience: "So what do you want from a teacher?"
