Our Memorial Day 2012 trip to Panamint City, Death Valley, CA.
We hiked the grueling 7-8 mile, 3500ft of elevation gain up streams, over boulders and coarse gravel, and through bushes to one of the best preserved ghost towns. We drove to the trail head Friday and stayed the night there. We hiked up Saturday morning and stayed the night in the "Panamint Hilton." We woke up in the middle of the night to the sounds of "ratzilla" who was doing its best to get into the emergency food store left by other hikers. You can see the flash of light in the first timelapse.
Sunday night, we stayed just outside of "The Castle." We elected not to stay inside due to the numerous droppings and our fear of contracting Hantavirus.
