Marin Poets Live! is a public access television monthly show presented by Marin County Free Library (http://www.marinlibrary.org/) and features host Neshama Franklin, who works at the Fairfax Branch Library. The show introduces local Marin poets and delves into their reasons for writing and the influence that living in Marin County has had on their poetry.

In each interview, Neshama spends time eliciting background from each poet as well as offering her insights into the poems that each guest reads aloud.

This interview with Margaret Kaufman and Albert Flynn DeSilver aired Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 7:30pm.

Margaret Kaufman Biography

Margaret Kaufman, poet and fiction writer, is the author of five books of poetry, including letterpress limited editions published by the Gefn Press (London), The Janus Press (Vermont), and Protean Press (San Francisco). A resident of Kentfield, California, Kaufman leads poetry workshops, teaches at the Fromm Institute at the University of San Francisco, and edits both fiction and poetry.

Albert Flynn DeSilver Biography

Albert Flynn DeSilver is a poet, author, artist, publisher, and speaker.

Albert served as Marin County¹s very first poet laureate from 2008-2010. Albert has published several books and more than one hundred poems in literary journals worldwide. His latest book is Beamish Boy: A Memoir, which Kirkus Reviews called "(...) a beautifully written memoir...poignant and inspirational, comical and terrifying!"

Albert taught with California Poets in the Schools for many years throughout Marin and the wider Bay Area. He currently presents at workshops, conferences, and institutions throughout the United States. More information can be found on his Web site.
