Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. 1967 speech: "We are demanding an emergency program to provide employment for everyone in need for a job or, if a work program is impractical, a Guaranteed Annual Income at levels that sustain life and decent circumstances. It is now incontestable that the wealth and resources of the United States make the elimination of poverty absolutely practical."

This from the 1967 Canadian Broadcasting Company Massey Lectures which was also published as a book: Martin Luther King, Jr. - The Trumpet of Conscience.

The CBC aired these speeches by MLK in November and December 1967. This particular clip can be found as text in chapter 1 (Impasse in Race Relations).

The full speech can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNaUf... and this clip is at 20:44.

The audio in this clip had been formerly attributed to MLK's "Where Do We Go From Here?" speech from 1967 --part of the CD set of "Martin Luther King Jr.: The Essential Box Set" (former title: "A Call to Conscience: The Landmark Speeches of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.") http://www.choosenonviolence.org/book...

He also speaks emphasizes the need for a guaranteed annual income in this speech, but with different wording: http://kingencyclopedia.stanford.edu/...
