Tribute is paid to Michael Anthony "Mick" Farren (September 3, 1943 - July 27, 2013) by Wayne Kramer, Michael Simmons, Taquila Mockingbird, Billy Shire, Natalie Nichols, Margaret Kramer, Johnette Napolitano, Sabrina Kaleta, Doug Lunn and long-distance remembrances from Lemmy Kilmister and Helga and Andy Colquhoun (Deviants guitarist), as well as a host of other friends and fans at a favorite haunt, the Cat n' Fiddle Pub. Proto-punk, epic front man, author of over 30 books on subjects as diverse as Elvis, the CIA and the black leather jacket (as well as sci-fi, vampire and other, more esoteric novels), Farren was a true inspiration to all who knew him. He fronted the Deviants and the Pink Faeries, recorded spoken word, was an editor at NME and faught obscenity charges filed against IT in the UK. He spent 30 years in the US, and returned home to England in October 2010, where his legendary band, the Deviants, performed at the Glastonbury festival (which he helped hound) and other venues. Farren passed away after performing in London with the Deviants, on July 27, 2013. He will be sorely missed.
