Charles Dance plays Tywin Lannister in Game of Thrones and believes the reason for the HBO series' success is the great storylines and astonishing production values. Charles starts shooting Series 3 of Game of Thrones soon, & as a tiny sneak preview & tease, he reveals that the relationship between Tywin and Tyrion doesn't improve.

Tywin Lannister is married to his cousin Joanna Lannister, the richest man in the Seven Kingdoms, Lord Paramount of the Westerlands, Shield of Lannisport, Lord of Casterly Rock, and Warden of the West. Joanna Lannister died while giving birth to their son Tyrion and Tywin blames Tyrion for her death. Tymin Lannister's favourite children are Jaime and Cersei.

In season 2 Tywin fights in War of the Five Kings to defend his grandson King Joffrey Baratheon. Tywin is defeated 3 times by King in the North Robb Stark who takes Jaime prisoner. From Harrenhal, Tywin launches a raid accross, but loses again to Robb in the Battle of Oxcross. When Tywin arrives back at Harrenhal he stops Ser Gregor Clegane torturing the prisoner and spots female prisoner Arya Stark pretending to be a boy and she becomes his cupbearer.

Ser Amory Lorch is blamed for leaking information to the enemy and Ayra later steaks a letter but is caught by Amory. She kills Amory by enlisting assassin Jaqen H'ghar and Tywin believes he was the original target. Tywin arranges an allian with Petyr Baelish, House Tyrell.

Robb maintains his campaign in the Westerlands, at Yellow Fork, and the Crag surrenders, followed by Casterly Rock. Tywin starts a new attack, leaving the castellan to be Ser Gregor and Arya the cupbearer. The Battle of the Blackwater leads Tywin to King's Landing with his army soldiers and he wins, and is given Hand of the King.

Charles Dance has just finished another HBO series called Strike Back, shot in South Africa and he may have a couple of movies in Australia coming up. Charles compares Strike Back to The Professionals, with two ex-special services guys sent to troublespots in the world. In Strike Back, they are sent to South Africa, and Charles Dance unveils there will be a lot of action and sex in Strike Back!

Charles Dance has also starred in Ali G, Phantom of the Opera, Alien 3, Last Action Hero, Rebecca, Gosford Park & Swimming Pool.
