Class 50 super star 50031 Hood is featured in these clips, she was one of the last survivors and reached the end of her career still carrying the much liked large logo livery.
D431 was new to BR on 01/07/1968 and was based at Crewe Diesel, she was renumbered on 19/3/74 and named 28/6/78.
She was transferred to Laira in May 76. Hood was the 24th Class 50 to receive her mid life refurb and the 38th to be withdrawn on the 5th August 1991 due to problems with her wheel sets. Her last revenue earning job was the 0745 Basingstoke to Exeter on the 15th July 1991. She is now owned by the 50 Fund.

3...Hood bursts out of Blackboy Tunnel at Exmouth Junction with the 1422 Exeter to Waterloo on the 17th June 1991.
4...50027 is paired with a repainted 50031 and are seen on the sea wall at Dawlish working the 0925 ECS from Laira to Exeter on the 25th May 1991.
5...50031 departs Exeter Central with the 1422 to Waterloo on the 1st May 1991.
6...A grubby 50031 paired with 50007 arrive at Exeter St Davids on the 9th February 1991 with the weekend Plymouth Southampton service.
7...A misty early morning along the shores of the River Teign as we see Hood at the head of the 0712 Newton Abbot to Exeter local stopping service. 8/6/91.
