From the video archives of Potter Park Zoo, we bring you the grand opening of our Magellanic penguin exhibit WAY back in 1986. It's hard to believe a number of our volunteers and employees weren't even born then! The exhibit was state of the art when it was built, and today with some modifications over the years, it's still a great home for our penguins. A mist system, hidden fans, and a shade canopy help keep these guys cool during the hottest summer days. Plus their pool is climate controlled to keep them comfortable year round.
