A visit to the Stretham Old Engine on the Ouse near Ely on 22nd September 2013. The engine house is only open on 15 days a year so this was the last time this year. A fascinating visit to a still-working engine (now driven by electricity for demonstration purposes). The Victorians were great engineers and this engine, one of many in the Fens built to drain the land, proves it.
