7644/B: GRAND PRIX: JAMES HUNT'S TRIUMPH
The world of motor racing has a new champion. A
twenty-nine year old English Public Schoolboy,
James Hunt, roared into third place in the Fuji Grand
Prix and gained the last vital points he needed to
snatch the championship from Austrian Niki Lauda.
The race, the first in the World Champion formula
One series to be held in Asia, was won by Mario
Andretti of the United States and France's Patrick
Depailler came second. Roving Report looks at the
race, and the champion.
