A new entry to the one tonner with CNG tank segment. The Triton CNG 4x2 from Mitsubishi. Actually introduced in 31STBiMS. Dual fuel but not compatible with diesel. Mitsubishi decided to make difference from others by make it compatible with E20 instead of B5. So it's first for pickups with dual fuel system on petrol engine. Now let's forget other Triton CNG's by third parties that came before.
Because it's powered by 2.4 petrol 128HP, via Bi-fuel system for gasoline and compressed natural gas. Acceptable for CNG, 91, 95, E20. With ECU box for energy usage management. Driver can choose the energy choices by a switch near steering wheel.
While the tank is Type-II, 120L for single cab and 100L for Mega Cab. Covered by non-drill type spraybed liner which specially designed for pickup with CNG tank. Also fitted 2 safety valves at pressure reducer device and head valve of CNG tank. For example, as if leakage in the system occurs, those 2 safety valves will suspend the gas automatically.
Additionally, with fuel/CNG status indicator.
Even that meant must sacrifice some areas of the cargo bed. And buyer must pay more 65,XXXTHB. New higher bed only for Mega Cab.
Like other Tritons, 2 CNG models also come with 3-year or 100,000km warranty.
So, Mitsubishi Triton can still be first in this alternate segment.
