To mark International Women's Day 2016 (#IWD2016), the Church of England asked Bishops to nominate some of the women they found inspiring. The short film 'Women Inspiring Women' looks at 7 Bishops' stories of those women they find inspiring.
You can also watch each of the Bishops' full piece on the woman or women they find inspiring in 7 separate films.
The Bishop of Crediton, the Rt Rev'd Sarah Mullally speaks about encountering Sister Eugenie Shamba at St Patrick’s in Zimbabwe on a trip there in 2011 with the Diocese of Southwark. Sister Eugenie and her team inspired Sarah with her compassionate level of care with a limited set of resources. A major programme at the mission was treating women with children who were HIV positive in a pioneering and holistic way that granted them opportunities to live in community together.
