Born in 1977. Parag Khanna holds both a Bachelor of Science in international affairs, a minor in philosophy from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University and a Master from Georgetowns Security Studies Program. He is earning a Ph.D. in international relations at the London School of Economics.

Before working at the World Economic Forum in Geneva for two years, Parag Khanna was a research associate at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York between 1999 and 2000. Subsequently, Parag Khanna held the position of global governance fellow at the Brookings Institution, before serving as senior geopolitical advisor to United States Special Operations Forces in Iraq and Afghanistan during 2007. Parag Khanna is Director of the Global Governance Initiative and senior research fellow in the American Strategy Program at the New America Foundation.

Parag Khanna is the author of The Second World: Empires and Influence in the New Global Order. His essays and reviews have appeared in major newspapers worldwide and he has been featured on CNN, BBC, PBS, Al Jazeera International and National Public Radio (NPR). He has been a visiting fellow at the American Academy in Berlin, Lee Kwan Yew School of Public Policy in Singapore, the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy at Georgetown University and the Observer Research Foundation in New Delhi. In 2009, he has been honoured by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader.
