Can someone please explain what the hell a backing track is? I learned up until about 2:30 of the tutorial but then I just get lost in the terminology :/

I can't believe how fast I learned this. Honestly took me an hour and a half! THANK YOU! (Even though you're bitterly done with this channel which really is your own fault that you're bitter because you covered these kind've songs gaining a following of people looking for this kind've tutorials instead of hearing and/or learning or even recognizing your music for the most part.) You don't know how much you're teaching people. I bid you good luck on your future endeavors as a musician, it's a tough world out there.

I believe (and by believe I mean I listened to the whole song starting and stopping to mark every single slight difference) that the change in the note progression in the left hand (added G) occurs every other time you play through the original progression of the left hand. Allow me to better explain. The melody in the piano is repeated 40 times. 20 of those times, the melody is played with the G progression. It's played every other time meaning played not on 1 but 2. Not 3 but 4. Etc.
