Following the post-election crisis in Ivory Coast in 2011, the students unions and teachers have continued to disrupt school life. To address this, UNICEF, the Ministry of Education and Search for Common Ground has implemented a project to promote a culture of peace in schools and communities by establishing two different clubs: The Peace Messengers for students and the Guardians of Peace for adolescents and school youth.
During InsightShare's participatory video evaluation process, young people shared their experience of these clubs and they selected eight stories which represented the "most significant change" that the project has brought to their lives. They also document the courageous change process of the young men, some of whom have left behind a life as a child soldier or as influential members of a gang.
