The Woodland Trust is working with the Ministry of Defence to create 160 hectares of woodland at Defence Infrastructure Organisation's training range at Warcop in Cumbria. This woodland is one of the first projects in the UK to receive the Government's new Woodland Carbon Code accreditation. This means businesses will for the first time be able remove emitted carbon from the atmosphere through UK woodland creation and then communicate it in their green house gas reports.
