Lyrics:

The Danes landed ashore in a frozen Ænglisc winter.
The attack came as from nowhere, the here fled and splintered.
Broken, defeated and crushed we fled; the western wetlands became my home. In the wild we lived our lives, when Wessex was once my throne.

A dream of an Ænglisc kingdom, shattered within its last breath.
The only path given to us now; fight or enfold our death.
I gaze upon my feond, with a sword in my hand.
Our last wish, just to be free, a dream of Ænglaland.

I send for my thegns and they answer the call, they gather in their thousands,
At Eðandune we stood, we make ready to take our homelands.
The fyrd form the shieldwall, helms and swords now glint in the sun.
Wyrd bið ful aræd, Rex Anglorvm Saxonvm.

A dream of an Ænglisc kingdom, given life on this bloodied field.
Our lines hold fast in their ground, our foe striking our shields.
I gaze upon my Danish foe, with a sword in my hand.
Our dying wish just to be free, my dream of Ænglaland.

Swa cwæð eardstapa, earfeþa gemyndig, wraþra wælsleahta, winemæga hryre:
Sio fierd ðone here gefliemde.
