Reenactment of the First Battle of Bull Run. This was the first major battle of the Civil War. In this battle 35,000 Union troops were routed by 29,000 Confederate troops near the town of Manassas, Virginia. Also during this battle, the then-colonel Jackson received his famous nickname of "Stonewall Jackson" because his troops held their ground "like a stone wall." This well-done reenactment took place in Brooksville, Florida (near Tampa) in January 2011. Over 1,500 reenactors participated. Great job!
