Bowser, a hard biting old fashioned Bull Mastiff. This breed was created around the middle of the 1800s by crossing (60%) Old English Mastiffs and (40%) Old English Bulldogs (not the present day version). The BullMastiff is one of the many kennelclub recognized Bandog breeds, but many bloodlines have lost their original working characteristics because of selecting and breeding for show "beauty". Although a beautiful (not exaggerated) example of the breed, Bowser still retains the working genes of his Bull and Mastiff Bandog ancestors (created to catch and hold poachers).
