A wonderful song by an amazing bassist and guitarist. It's my first video, too! I hope you enjoy it. ^_^

Oh, and I realize that the syncopation is off - it's really aggravating!!! Forgive me for not being able to time it right; I'm terribly new at this...

What happened to Mike Rutherford ,by comparison to Steve Hackett he lost his vision whereas Steve stayed the course now his music is too much POP! BULL Shit! he missed his calling!

Rutherford at his best. Smallcreep's day is definitely one of of the best progressive rock albuns of the 70's. Now, what I don't understand is how come such talented musician writing some comercial crap music from the 80's on..

The song itself sounds kind of like a Toto song.

And I don't think Caroline Blue Plate ever reissued this.  They did Tony's first album, "A Curious Feeling" which was equally as wonderful as this, but AFAIK this is still unavailable here.  I have this on LP and CD (which I uploaded to my ipod), both on Passport Records, which I got second-hand off ebay.

@mnaran.  Oh man that must have been awesome!  I live in New Jersey.  Passport Records was located in South Plainfield, my father works down the road from where it was now, that same immediate area!  I know they were a big import company and they lost a lot of business in the mid-1980s when some import law was passed.  That was also Anthony Phillips' mainstay too for a long time, and Nektar too released a few albums with them in the 70's, my dad had their "Remember The Future" album, wild stuff!

I seem to see a trend in lots of Genesis related songs, not necessarily about alcoholism, but about self-medicating with alcohol due to depression or some sort of despair.  That is what I get out of this song, as in Moonshine whiskey.  "Twilight Alehouse" is another, and also "Say It's Alright Joe" off ATTW3.
