Here's dumpsterPC's second video How to Guide. In this video I'll show you how to create your own motherboard MOSFET cooler, similar to an Enzotech MST-88 but far cheaper because we're doing it ourselves. The motherboard that we'll be using is a Gigabyte 990FXA-D3 that has mounting holes for a cooler on the MOSFETs that make up the CPU VRM section, but it doesn't actually ship with a heatsink on these critical components. So we're going to make our own using an old heatsink salvaged from a Socket 7 system and some simple tools.
This video covers Part 1, the setup and preparation portion of the project.
So come and marvel in the wonder that is this ghetto-mod :)
Apologies for the shaky-cam effect, the occassional lack of focus, and any background noise.
If you've got any questions, post them in the comments section and I'll endeavour to answer them.
