Pranav Mistry Head of Think Tank Team Samsung presents Galaxy Gear smartwatch at the IFA in Berlin
The wrist-worn device must be paired via Bluetooth with Samsung's line of Galaxy brand smartphones and tablets, and can be used to check notifications, make and answer calls, take pictures — and, of course, tell time.
It will also run apps developed specifically for the Gear, and be sold for a starting price of $299.
"With Gear, we are changing everything," Pranav Mistry, Samsung's director of research, said at the event.
