The His Master's Voice model 102 portable gramophone/phonograph are considered among the very best by collectors. It was in production from 1931 until 1960. My red 102 was made in 1935..

When Lionel Hampton began recording under his own name in February 1937, "My Last Affair" was the very first he made. In the band's personnel were trumpeter Ziggy Elman, alto saxophonits Hymie Schertzer and George Koenig, tenor saxophonist Vido Musso, pianist Jess Stacy, guitarist Allen Reuss, bassist Harry Goodman and drummer Gene Krupa - along with Hampton himself, they were all members of the Benny Goodman Orchestra.
