LVMPD faces an unprecedented funding shortfall. The sheriff is concerned that fewer officers will result in more crime. Current revenues for the department stand at $457 million, but it will cost a minimum of $502 million to run the department, even after a series of cutbacks. A potential solution would be to enable the second phase of the voter-approved More Cops initiative. These issues are discussed in this video, featuring Sheriff Doug Gillespie and other Metro leaders. Your support in helping us solve this funding crisis is very important.
