Those theatrics should come in handy if you ever get into a fight with building materials at Home Depot. It's all tricks made to deceive like magic. Put those guys in the UFC ring and watch them get carried out.

Yeah, sure. We literally go to Home Depot to buy the stuff we break. The bricks we break are the same type that were used in making the building the practice in. But sure Mr. Tough-Guy™, whatever you say.

+kjvwolfslayer To be fair kjv, most of the guys in the UFC, the Lumpini and Rajadamnern Stadiums, K-1, or hell even the WBC can also do feats of strength like this, they just don't bother. Buakaw can kick down trees and that's all fine and dandy but time is money and unlike Billy Banana Tree Giorgio Petrosyan and John Wayne Parr won't stand still and take that shit. It's not that it's impossible, it's just not as special as a lot of traditional MA fans want to believe and not really worth doing when you should be gearing up to fight other people who can pull this stuff off. Even with the tricks they employ it still takes legitimate skill and strength to do these displays. The problem is that the displays themselves are pointless when you could be practicing against other, equally skilled and strong people.

There are too many "martial arts" disciplines that are loosing their original concept and seem to be focusing more on displays, seems like a huge ego boosting performance to me . . . . Sigh

+Colin Smith You are correct sir. Politics ruined TKD by removing anything remotely Chinese or Japanese. Now it looks like cockfighting.
bighands69
+Panny Spirou It is about attracting people to their sport/art. What is the problem with that. Obviously this is a little gimmicky.

this taekwondo really looks like kungfu. :d
The_Man_from_Epsilon_Crucis
I have never been in a fight with a big stick or lump of wood before like these guys but I am sure it must be terrifying.  Especially when they are designed to break easily.

It's a demonstration of skill. It's not just about breaking the board. It takes incredible flexibility and control to throw some of these kicks with that level of precision. If you don't understand that, then to everyone you just seem like another keyboard warrior.

I felt bad for people who don't understand the purpose of martial art....
