The Melissa Project: Melissa's Story

Dr. Melissa Landa was an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Maryland for ten years before she was dismissed for speaking her mind.

For nine years, Melissa maintained positive relationships with colleagues and students, received awards for her teaching, and was given her choice of classes to teach. In spring of 2016, everything changed.

Melissa became a vocal opponent of the antisemitic BDS movement, and was subsequently targeted and ostracized by some members of the College of Education faculty. After filing a faculty grievance, Melissa was informed that her contract would not be renewed.

Vocal opponents of BDS have been silenced, while those who support BDS have not faced any negative administrative consequences. We must end the attack of Jewish professors and students at American universities.
