Derek Jeter is the latest athlete to take part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, a fundraising effort where people dump ice water on their heads and then (hopefully) donate money to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis research.

Before he was dunked, Jeter acknowledged both former Yankee Lou Gehrig, who suffered from ALS (the disease is often referred to as Lou Gehrig’s Disease) and Pete Frates, the former captain of the Boston College baseball team who suffers from ALS and had emerged as a national spokesman for the Ice Bucket Challenge.

Before getting dunked, Jeter nominated Hannah Davis, who is a model, Kevin Connelly, who is an actor, and Michael Jordan, who is Michael Jordan.

The dunkers were Yankees pitchers CC Sabathia and Masahiro Tanaka.
