A step-by-step explanation of how to draw the CH2N2 Lewis Dot Structure.

For the CH2N2 Lewis structure, calculate the total number of valence electrons for the CH2N2 molecule (CH2N2 has 16 valence electrons). After determining how many valence electrons there are in CH2N2, place them around the central atom to complete the octets. Be sure to use the number of available valence electrons you found earlier.

There are a total of 16 valence electrons for the CH2N2 Lewis structure.

When drawing the Lewis structure for CH2N2 you'll need a double bond between the Carbon and Nitrogen and another double bond between the two Nitrogen atoms. This is the only way to achieve full outer shells for all the atoms in the CH2N2 Lewis structure.

Note: Hydrogen (H) atoms always go on the outside of a Lewis structure.
