Dedicated to our intrepid mechanical explorers, Opportunity and Spirit: who continue to do good science long after their expiration date. Deepest thanks to Toadbutt who's performance was the inspiration of this video.

This video is for entertainment and educational purposes only. The main music is from an 1973 video of David Bowie's Life on Mars? directed by Mick Rock (and all rights reserved to the owners). I created the audio using Audacity by splicing together audio tracks of Toadbutt's performance of Life on Mar? and the original bowie video. I will be posting a stereo version somewhere on the net when time permitsThe 3D animation was done using trueSpace 5.2. The Victoria crater model and the rover model were both created by me and are in no manner meant to be an accurate representation of original. I made extensive use of NASA photos for texturing Victoria crater and the rover and NASA photos and videos were used in the credits. The characters were based on default characters form trueSpace but heads and texturing was done by me. Please note that Bowie's tie, and the emblem on Toadbutt's T shirt and the thing on her hat, I was able to extract from the video. I use Microsoft Movie Maker to create the main video and used Virtual dub for some of the slicing. The images we edited using Gimp and Paint.net. This video is far from perfect but came out pretty close to what I imagined. Hope you enjoy watching it; I definitely had fun making it. Don't forget to rate and comment on it. Thanx.
